Easter -Breakout -2022

Easter 2022 looks likely to be the first time for a while that we can all attend activities and events without too many Covid restrictions!

We thought we’d help you make some plans for your easter re-emergence and look at what’s happening regionally.

Steam Locomotive Easter Events

First and foremost Bressingham Gardens and Museum will be opening on March 28th!

Come and visit our amazing gardens, ride on our trains and gallopers and enjoy our fascinating exhibits (We’ll also be giving away tickets for a family of four in a couple of weeks to keep an eye on our blog!)

Although you’ve unfortunately just missed their April Steam Gala our friends at the North Norfolk Railway have plenty more things in their 2022 programme. They will also be open at throughout the Easter weekend (15, 16, 17 & 18 April).

Other Outdoor Easter Events

Another incredibly popular attraction with a less mechanical bias is the Wroxham Barns Easter Egg-Stravaganza will be taking place for the first time since 2019.

The event will be running on Apr 2nd, 3rd and 4th and will also include Lambing live of their rare breed sheep.

For a more rough and rugged family experience you could try booking Family Forest Fun session at the Out There Forest School near Attleborough.

The forest school is located in a amazing 6 acre ancient woodland and provides the opportunity for families to learn outdoor skills such as:

Firelighting, natural crafts, tool work, bushcraft, ropes, tree and plant identification, cooking.

Indoor Easter Activities

For one reason or another not everyone is in the market for attending outdoor easter events so we’ve had a look for things for families to do inside too!

For younger children Good House Keeping magazine has an excellent selection of 30 Easter games and crafts, from “Pin the tail on the Bunny” to a somewhat divisive version of an Egg hunt where children are allowed to snatch eggs from each others baskets!

Assuming after that your family is still talking to each other you might all want something to eat.

The BBC Good food website is one of our most trusted sources of excellent recipes and they have a hole section on Easy Easter recipes including their simple but very pretty Easter biscuits and an intriguing take on the traditional Hot Cross Bun that includes chunks of Haloumi - an idea so bonkers it might actually work!
