Volunteering at Bressingham Steam

Bressingham is a registered charity and a working steam site. Although we employ full time members of staff, we always need part time volunteers to help fulfil roles such as locomotive drivers both rail and road, railway guards, engineers, gardeners, plus a host of other general maintenance duties, both in and out of season.

At Bressingham, we have many active volunteers – some of whom come at least once a week, nearly every week of the year! But we're always looking for more volunteers who can dedicate as little or as much time as they can!

Volunteer Training

You don’t have to come from a railway background to volunteer at Bressingham, training will be given for whatever operational task you choose to take up – whether that be direct steam involvement, guarding, gardening or retail work. We are always looking for people with skills they can bring to us whatever they might be. It takes people from all walks of life to make the site tick!

Health & Safety

Before you do any work at Bressingham, you need to take part in the Health & Safety tour.
