The Museum

Open 7 Days a Week!

There's lots to see in the Museum

Located between the Exhibition hall and our selection of locomotive sheds, there are lots to see in the museum here at Bressingham.

Our main exhibition hall houses our own private collection of road steam engines, along with the equipment they would have used in their day to day life, such as our newly restored threshing drum. The Krupps engines, Rosenkavalier and Mannertreu, are also located here for visitors to take an up closed look at.

We are also home to Postal Carriage museum, with a fantastic display consisting of a real postal carriage that visitors can explore and see how the post ran on the railways in the past. The exhbition hall is finally rounded off with the recreation of Walmington-on-Sea from Dads Army and surrounded with vehicles that featured in the series including our Leyland fire engine, Lance Corporal Jones’ butcher’s van, steamroller Boxer and traction engine Bertha.

In the locomotive sheds you can explore part of the national steam collection, as well as the royal carriages and the recently arrived 9F ‘Black Prince’ (usually at the North Norfolk Railway)

See below for a current list of our collection!
